Client: Mountain West Hockey League
Project: League and Club Websites, League Social Media
Services: Strategy, design, development, operation
The Mountain West Hockey League, a professional minor sports league, selected WebFactorE to create its league and individual club websites. The league website was designed to function as the hub of a network of connected team websites.
A sports league management system was integrated into the league site to centralize scheduling, scores, stats, and standings which could then flow through to the team websites. An e-commerce catalog was integrated to enable online ticket and merchandise sales. A distributed content management capability was enabled to allow the creation of articles at the league level with distribution to selected team websites. Content upload capability was created to allow photographers and reporters from each club location to submit images and stories.
Since initial launch with the league website and four club sites, the MWHL web platform has grown to include up to ten club websites.
Branded social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) were launched for the MWHL. Content is coordinated with web content to promote the league and its clubs. The Twitter feed is linked directly into the league and club websites to enable realtime game updates and scores.
